I received an offer on Alibaba from a reliable seller I already work with for battery cells from this manufacturer:

Does anyone have experience with them or know about their reputation?

In my testing of 50E equivalent cells, BAK had significantly higher IR dispersion than EVE, molicell, SAMSUSNG. Not tested this model.
On paper it looks like a very interesting mid power cell, alternative between 50S/P45/P42

Thanks for letting know.
How high was the dispersion in percentage?
Did it comply with the maximum value in datasheet, similar to like here it states \<=5mohm

I recently received BAK 45D cells. These cells are equivalent to the Molicel P45B but are less expensive than the P42A and likely have lower internal resistance than the P45B. In this video, I compare three BAK 45D cells with the P42A model.

Measurements show that their internal resistance is consistent within 0.05 milliohms of each other, and their voltage matches within 1 millivolt. The BAK 45D cells demonstrated one-third the internal resistance of the P42A cells.

Nice, the IR is very low, how much did you measure with P42?

42D: 2.85mΩ vs P42A: 8.9mΩ

2.85mohm is incredibly low! How much did you pay per cell?

$3.25 per cell
I’m excited about this cell and looking forward to testing it in water.

If anyone interested in purchasing these cells, I recommend my trusted seller Anbor on Alibaba (link below). When contacting her, please mention you were referred by Pavel Ravits from Israel.

BAK, founded in 2013, manufactures cells for automotive applications, which speaks to their quality and reliability.

It is tabless cells, therefore the low resistance, here a video with tests and comparison of high current cells:

wow, that is a whole lot of data…
And it varies from sample to sample…
His dc result for 45D is different from my sample.

#### As as a side note:

As a matter of fact, depending on consumption of foil assist, we may search for a cell with higher capacity even at expense of resistance.
Like when using 3p or for low power conditions as in
'[Foil Drive Assist, DIY - #1676 by s9tim](https://foil.zone/t/foil-drive-assist-diy/12927/1676)

In the above comparison the highest capacity is 50B and 50S.
Currently BAK does not have an equivalent for 50B.
And there are higher capacity cells, but with higher resistance in the market.

I did received the cells and published a test above. Or you mean something else?

I have assembled a battery, but didn’t use it the water yet. 15mohm for 12s3p including two xt90, but I soldered copper directly instead of nickel.

I am considering building a motor test bench for the purpose of loading esc using another 6384 as a generator. Did you think about such thing?

You can use vesc do do a load test without motor. here is the link :

45D datasheet specifies 600 cycles up to 60% capacity when charging at 8A and discharging at 30A.
So charging 6s3p battery with M6D at 8A and foiling at max 90A will be under this rating.
Most of the time the current is probably half that, so can expect more % left at 600 cycles.
I wonder if charging at less current will help much…
