Hello all. Long time reader, first time poster. I’ve been intrigued by the DIY efoil world for quite some time and it seems like the time may finally be coming around to start getting wet. I took an eFoil session in Mexico about a year ago and loved every moment of flight of which there were many…not of very long duration but enough to fall in love with the feeling. I’m a snow and land kiter but gave up on the water side of that sport instead shifting my attention to wing foil. It’s because of the wing foil shift that I found myself “getting the feel for the foil” in Mexico. Trying to separate the skills out and work on them independently to start.
Just a bit of background. Here’s where I’m at currently.
I purchased a second hand off-brand (AliExpress) inflatable foil board setup a couple of years ago and am now here wondering if I can use that foil/mast setup on a DIY eFoil build. And if I do, will the modifications required for efoiling render the setup no longer viable to use wing foiling (holes for wiring/cooling drilled into mast)? I don’t know the actual make or sizing of the foil but if photos and measurements could help you all tell me if it’s worth trying or better to walk away from I could definitely post those.
