After some research, cheap AliExpress BEC burnt Bremote RX, sad day for me. I’ll be a lot more selective about BEC quality now and will focus more on cooling everything down. I bought Mateksys BEC.

I received my 2 ESC’s SEQURE 12200, added a big cooler to chill MOSFETs one one side and make a good interface between ESC and batteries to avoid heating chain reaction, the others Mosfet’s are also stuck on my outside heatsinks.

I hope the seawater flow from a pipe fixed on the bottom of the board would be sufficient 🤞

I also changed my 2nd hand Pelicase gasket.

Update from last tests:

Water flow with a horizontal pipe stuck on the bottom of the board is sufficient to cool both ESC.

One day the pipe turned a bit and my ESC tripped on safety temperature, it proves it’s efficient and necessary for my system. Both BEC’s are stuck on the cooler also to keep there temperature down.

Really happy with Sequre 200 amp ESC, cheap, protected by alu casing (more than X Cross) and powerful.

I only ride my 30 liters board with 1100cm2 foil. Take off must be lean on the board to be gentle with the system. Autonomy is really crazy, about 1h30 non stop running and a lot more when surfing.

Next step:

Try longer masts, from 20 to 30cm to handle the chop better using GONG masts and use new Flipsky 6384 waterproof because my DIY 6384 epoxy coating is a crap

Last Update:

- I confirm cooling is a necessity because my cooling system was not properly set today and my motors oscillated again because ESC were at the temperature limit. Use internal cooler !

- My poor epoxy coating expands a bit when I push trigger too much, it stucks the rotor on the stator. A bit of sanding and let’s go again.

- Because I wait for a new Bremote, with Maytech remote, I connected one PWM signal on the static switch, it allows me to change direction of my boogie on one side by stopping a motor. I need to push 2 times on On/off button.
I plan to connect the other PWM on the transistor switch to be allowed to go in the other side.

It allows to steer the boogie to come back with a Maytech remote. Impossible to use it during a ride.

Thinking to buy the Sequre 12200 for foil assist in a pelican and mount this esc on the outside as it is encased in the alu box. What do you think about it?
How this alu box built, does it need much waterproofing?

I think it’s tricky to waterproof the Sequre, the alu box is great, better than X cross for sea water drops when you change your foil assist batteries on the beach but won’t never replace a real waterproof ESC, motor phase and battery connectors are still outside and difficult to protect IMO.

A bit of news about my tow:

Now the Pelican is mounted on a huge 48’ boogie with a noodle forward. Really stable, turns great and handles the chop a bit.

My gong mast are heavier and deeper than my previous 3d print parts. It keeps a bit better the trust when the boogie bounces in the chop.

Flipsky motors are much powerful than AliExpress

Still using the Maytech remote with possibility of stopping one motor with the switch to reorientate the board to come back, not the best but it works

I use an external Maytech 1m antenna fitted on a flag pole, better range but still some issue with the homemade waterproofing. After some sessions, it still looses it’s signal strength. I don’t know why.

Yes, the connections of Sequre are outside, I was thinking to 3D print enclosure for the wiring connections, but I will put it in this alu box:

 ![1000075060](https://foil.zone/uploads/default/original/3X/d/d/dd0d53e9ae97f88b9a7a6bac91e51fd01fd4eea2.jpeg)

'[AliExpress](https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oo18fob)

The big advantage of this Sequre, as I see it, is - the common connected heatsink from both sides, so enough to attach one side to the box.

Lately I had the chance to find a micro dinghy from Highfield, the mini ALU for display. Aluminium V shape hull, 8kg.

Project is to use everything from my dual motor tow boogie with a Bremote V2.

Hope to find the good balance:

I’ll put the box as forward as possible, cut the Gong masts shorter and set the propellers closer. Hope to be able to use it without a pole bar to keep the original design🙏

Did you buy this box ?
This is not 100% aluminium (cast aluminium), so, cooling is not perfect ?

Some news about the inflatable tow project. I’m a bit constrained by the short hull for weight positionning

Succeded to avoid welding alu mast by using the original bench inside the boat, everything is screwed.

Will set the box as forward as possible and will try a V shape rope on the aft of the hull without rigid extension to counteract the water flow from the inside propeller when I turn.

I hope the rope attachement won’t be too close to the propeller 🤞to have have a correct pivot point otherwise I will have to fix an extension bar

That little dinghy is so cool! Good luick with the built. If you can lay the case flat it will lower the center of gravity a bit which could help things.

I set it in this position because flat I can’t put it as forward as in this configuration

Anyway, the batteries are down in the box so I couldn’t have a really better solution than that.

My dad and I were thinking of doing something similar with a Talamex mini, and asked Talamex if they would sell us one.
A BIG NO was there reply when we told them what we wanted to use it for.
