Hi,
I already have my Gong 110L Foilboard and I have my Gong Foil as well.
I’m searching for a complete plug and play to just mount on my board/foil.
With or without batteries.
Hoping for a minium speed 30kmh. (80 kilos)
I know it depends on front foil.
Are you building a foildrive or efoil?
Do you plan to use a box on the top of the board, no cutting/recessing?
What kind of size of box can you accept?
What runtime do you wish?
Which gong wing do you have / are you planning?
Which gong board?
What is your ride competence level?
Where in denmark are you? Local pickup of batteries will be a lot cheaper and easier.
Are you building a foildrive or efoil? Efoil
Do you plan to use a box on the top of the board? Top of the board
What kind of size of box can you accept? Small as possible, 110L board
What runtime do you wish? +60min
Which gong wing do you have / are you planning?
GONG WING FOIL ALLVATOR V2 X-OVER ALU - XXL, 2200cm2 + 350cm2 carbon*
Which gong board? Gong lethal
What is your ride competence level? Experinced kitesurfer, newbie foiling
Where in denmark are you? Copenhagen

I would prefer that. Any recommendations om hobbyking? 20000mah lipo or Dewalt handtool batteries?*
Although my Hobbyking 6S20Ah Lipos from 2020 still work, I would not recommend them, I can get around 14000mAh out of them. You get about 20min runtime with two of those in series. Get a Pack from 21700 LiIon, that‘s what most people do nowadays. For 1h runtime it wil not be small. With a 12S 8P pack from Molicel P42A, I get max 50min if I run slowly (below 25km/h average).
Your wing is also too big for an efoil, something in the range of 1000 (advanced) to 1600cm2 would be more suitable and also use less energy on speeds above 25km/h.
I think a 60 min ride efoil won’t be so nice with a box on top, a normal battery configuration will require a too big box that will be in the way…
You could make a specialised thin battery and enclosure but it’s gonna cost and be difficult. I sure like to see the result if you do it - but i think a recessed box is the easier and neater route to go.
A plug and play package will cost a bit, how much would you be willing to pay for the drive?
Some reference pricing:
“Sifly” efoil is 5000 eur
To purchase the “Flite” efoil board only has been mentioned as 1500 eur here but flite efoil price is 2x the Sifly - so the drive only could be estimated to be 1750 of the sifly total cost
The “Foildrive assist plus” is a plug and play unit for 3000 eur (but hasn’t got nearly enough performance to meet your wishes)

Some reference pricing:
“Sifly” efoil is 5000 eur. Just checked Sifly website. 5000 EUR is withput VAT, cheapest will be 8300 EUR

All in all. It seems that they have added a higher price on Sifly website. The foildrive assist sounds weak as it souds more like simple assist for the big waves in wavesurfing. Maybe it is cheaper to find a used waydoo one plus for about 5000 EUR
Thank you. Differently something I will take in my consideration.
Good point with the foil wings. Still thinking the 2200cm2 is usanle for first time practise.?
To be clear, i’m not giving these as alternatives for you, only as reference to what the market has, question is what you can imagine paying for a drive kit
This stuff is expensive so if you want to pay someone to build it you need to have reasonable expectations, how much would you think is OK?
I agree, I started on a wing like that, it was a great improvement when i switched to a gong curve LT wing.
But i also think that if you’re wanting to just use what you have (if you have it already?) and are new to foiling then it’ll work, you can get whatever wing later.
Runtime depends highly on the riding. Thing is that you pull a lot of power during starts and when learning but quite little when you foil properly.
From the data shared here i’d expect 3-3.5kw during starts and 1-1.5kW during foiling. For the easyfoil drive you’d have 363wh of energy and 5-7 minutes of starts or 15-20 minutes of riding.
Is it worth it for you? I don’t think so. Too little runtime for an efoil (but enough for a foildrive, i assume)
