Flipsky 100kv flier esc Holland build

Nice project with a nice visible color and a matching prop fairing !

I would really like to know more. How was it done during the board building ?

Would you have a pict for that point ? How is it above the mast when the mast hatch is opened ? Is your main hatch watertight ?

Do you think a main hatch could be made out of TRESPA ? This material is nice (High Pressure Laminate exists in plenty of colors) seems really tough but looks heavy. What do you think ?

Im wondering where you got this nice big box cover from?
By the way your build looks quiet nice for one being build without a lot of 3D printing.

Under the mast plate there is a wide pipe tube about 3 cm wide, that goes to the main hatch, at the end of this 3cm hollow tube I epoxied a big swivel, ( I thought it was called a swivel but it is named differently in english ) https://images.app.goo.gl/jL3fvxW7kCxkGipM9

This thing, a bigger version that goes from about 15mm to 20mm.

Inside of this one I have a smaller PVC tube of about 15mm wide that will fit in the “swivel” inside of the 15mm tube I glued my 3 phase wires with a waterhose for cooling )

Now if I want to detach my mast, I only have to unscrew the 4 bolts from the mast plate and open up the “swivel” (Waterproof cable connector ), when it is open the 15mm tube will slide through the 30mm tube.

All waterproof and fast to detach everything.

My hatch is a regular boat hatch

But I removed the rubber inside, and replaced it with a 4x7mm tube from alieexpress. I tried several tubes and 4x7mm is fine but the silicon of latex version will only last a few weeks, looks like it is eaten by something chemical. So I found a EPDM rubber 4x7mm at alieexpress and will try that soon. Maybe that one is stronger.

30kmh hitting the botom of the lake. The trespa plate on top and bottom and surfboard did hold it.

Oh Brother, so sorry to see this :frowning:

poor guy at least its only the mastplate

What battery monitors are these? Really like the setup

And this last part costs 26 euro. But the link above shows 100 euro.that is too much.

All is working really good. Yesterday 14s 55v orso 100kv Flipsky FR prop 37kmh GPS. That is really fast when foiling.

Even the big bolts are bended. So the board is really strong. Mast plate 29 euro. I hope it won’t take too long

Jammer man. Helemaal met dit weer :frowning:

The mast plate is some sort of composite? Why this is not looks like pure aluminium?

Great build! How is that hatch holding up with the new tubing? Is it keeping things pretty dry in there?

I think GONG was so fast in 2 days I was up and running again. Mastplate is a little bit weak aluminium I think, the new one is a bit stronger I think.

I did some more experiments with rubber sealing, and latex or silicon hose is really good, but only for a few weeks orso, some how it is falling apart.

I now have https://www.rubbermagazijn.nl/img/mosrubber-snoer-d-5mm_2000x2000_19138.jpg

This stuff is really good for a hatch, it is soft and always goes back in shape, I ordered 6mm but maybe 5 is better, so the hatch will close more easy.

Yes almost completly dry inside. It is leaking somewhere else a bit.

Question, I do have 4 holes through the hole board for the mast plate mounting.
In these holes I did a plastic tube, with epoxy and glue, but somehow between the board and the plastic tube there will always be a small gap where water can come in, I think almost anybody will have this if you hit the botom of the lake a few times.

So is the inside of the surfboard soaking up water ? Will this be a problem after a while ?

Its not composite its a casting

So Here is my solution for an easy and fast waterproof mount of the whole mast to the board. 3wires and a tube ( I dont need the tube ) through the PVC pipe and a big waterproof electric connector.

Hi Louis, I am using the same hatch than you and I am getting a lot of water inside. I tried an additional seal without success. Is this new solid rubber tube a ultimate solution? Thanks a lot !!

We used the same hatch (2 of them) on our 1st jet board build.
My dad told me that they are as useless as an ashtray on a motor bike!
(we could also not get them to stop leaking!)

Sorry to hear that Kian. I hope Louis found a goon solution. :crossed_fingers:

Anyone using Maytech/Flipsky with a Flier ESC?
I would like to know if there is a firmupware update out now, thank you

what esc are you using?

Haven’t read for a while. Because the efoil is just perfect  the hatch is fine. In my post from Aug 20. 2020 I showed a picture of massive rubber 6mm . I think that is what I used as last attempt and it is dry. Really dry. With 6mm the hatch closes real tight.

I still run flier esc with that low rpm bt kv kinda firmware from a year ago. Maybe it is updated now? All is fine and no watercooling. Esc is strong enough to run by its own cooling plate.

But flipsky 200vesc is more silent
