Hi Have built my apple tree 80l into a dedicated foil assist using flipsky 6384 motor with the waterproof 150amp vesc running on 50p 12s3p. It runs well I’m 95kgs and I tested on the UHA870 with the 170surf tail
It ran really well heaps of power maybe could be backed off a bit but as voltage dropped to lower if I grabbed too much throttle the motor would skip or cut out slightly I would have to be very smooth on throttle response is there something in programming that I could change or is it that the system telling me that the battery is reaching voltage cut off of 3.2v.
Any help much appreciated?

All epoxy filled, you can maybe see the 5mm hole on some of them. The way I’ve designed them the connectors click into place, I 5 minute epoxy the connector in place so it’s sealed before filling with regular epoxy. TPU seal between male and female connectors works very effectively.

Those connectors look great! I’m currently on a 3 phase wire connector rabbit hole. I assume the yellow connectors are the AMASS MR30? They are only rated for 30A burst and 15 continuous, is that ok for 12S?
I reeally need to disconnect my mast, currently hard wired from ESC to motor and The board is taking a beating from the mast and motor while transporting.

I have a very similar setup on my vesc i use
FOC
Battery current 42.5amps
Motor current 100amps
Max Current 135amps
Wattage 1575w
Battery cutoff start 37.09
Battery cutoff end 34.36
Positive ramp 1.6
Negative ramp 0.25
erpm 30000
duty cycle control
This gives a pretty linear power delivery across the battery range 12s3p, can get a 40l board going with a 900 foil at 75kgs
normally when i hit the cutoff voltage it just looses power no skipping or cutout,

I’m using XT90 for the amp rating. Your plugs do look great but I’m a little worried on amp rating as well. Can I get the file for them please I’d like to give them a try.

Cool build! How is your hatch holding up, does it leak at all? Where did you get it from? There are so many options for those circular hatches, not sure which one to get.

try getting one where the seal gasket is on the hatch itself, and not the lid that comes off an on. osculati makes some good ones but hard to find in the US

I just bought this hatch from local BCF camping store nothing special. I haven’t had leaks from hatch but I did get a leak because I ran Rx wire external to top front of my board which leaked a bit I’ve fixed with silicon.

On my onewheel, I feel the motor slip if I push it too much up a steep hill. So maybe when the voltage gets lower on your setup, and you push the motor hard (making more voltage sag) you get the same issue? Is it only happening when dipping the prop back in and restarting the spin from zero? (I have the vx5 remote and slowly gear up instead of manipulating the trigger, and I am also still just in efoil mode until I get better at foiling, so I don’t know much about the demands of an assist setup yet). That said, I did just order the same Flipsky Vesc so I’ll let you know if I can produce the same issues.

Thanks for your input mate and yes that’s exactly what I thought was going on. I’ve changed some settings with some help and it is heaps better and I’ve added 15% throttle curve.

I’m not sure where I’ll mount my vesc yet (won’t be permanent as I’m making a backpack setup). I see you embedded yours in the rear underside of the board. It’s the waterproof flipsky, right? How are the thermals on it when you run for a length of time? Any cutout from heating up too much?

It stays absolutely cool there no issues at all cables from battery is 8 gauge and from motor is 12guage until plug then 8 gauge. Still deciding on plug from mast the xt90 seem to work fine with grease but I might try the mr60 with seal

I’m doing a back pack setup as well now I had two 10s packs from a system I bought from a Freind and will use a flipsky 70amp for a lite weight setup
