Is this good kit to start?

Hi all.
I have a gong inflatable an a V3 X over - I am wondering if this is a good kit to start with to electrify.
The motor and esc are already mentioned here but I’m not sure if this is a good deal- if the remote is good etc etc.
I just found this on AliExpress: €1,250.59 | Group W7 Water Sports Kit (Includes High Current FSESC75300 84V and New 65161 Round shaft Motor) Waterproof Remote Controller

I would be interested in your opinions.
Marty.

You may want to shop directly on the Flipsky site. You could configure with a 75200 VESC as
It has proven sufficient for our purpose

You could also pick individual items and not end up with pieces like the white prop that you likely won’t use.

Worth looking anyway. You might either save $ or get a better solution like getting the vx5

Thanks Foilguy - im just at the point of looking now/trying to figure out what I would need.

Im new to all this - I used build and fly helis and there is definitely some common ground but the whole waterproofing and potting I read about would be new to me, also i dont have experience with 3D printing.

Ive read tonnes of the posts on here just trying to figure out what motor/battery/esc i should be looking at.

I will take your advice and look @ the flipsky site - I gueess im trying to put a shopping list together and go from there
Thanks again,
Marty.

Hey!
Most common setup is the 65161 120K with threaded shaft, 75200 Pro V2 VESC and the newest VX5 is definitely worth it over the VX3.

Good idea to have a complete list before you start buying things.

A couple of things

Inflatable board will require an external box either on top or underneath to house battery and electronics.

It will also require external routing of the three phase cables going to motor

The Gong V3 masts aren’t widely used yet so important to sort out motor mounting now.

3D printing isn’t very difficult. The printers themselves are not overly expensive and many communities have them in libraries and/or maker places.

Thanks - yes I think id be looking at the battery box on top for the first build.
Thanks for heads up on V3 mast, it is different to the V2 for sure - there is a local maker group and maybe if i got an STL they would be able to build it for me.

Is the propellor something that would neeed to be made aswell? -or can good enough ones be purchased online for a reasonable price?

Thank you,
Marty.

Lots of info here on this site. Please use the search function. :grinning:

This is a topic on V3 mast - motor mount

Stl file for a gong v3 65161 motor mount

Lots of people use the Fliteboard prop on the 65161 motor. It does require a slight mod to make it fit.
