# Lift Gen4 Full Range Battery

Hi all,
First post and I’ve been reading through some older threads on opening Lifts battery due to my Gen4 battery dying.
“Charged battery from 75% to 100% went out on the lake. 10 mins later:
Remote showing “Over Current”
Brought it back in and getting these lights on the battery after turning it off and on (see pics). Did a battery reset, no change. Same colors when plugging into the charger.
Lift v4”
Lift replaced the battery under warranty and did not want the broken battery back. So I opened it up. Here are some pictures for those interested.
Relay HFZ16V-100/900-12
So far all the cells check out and are balanced at 4.02v
I’m guessing the BMS went bad but will be checking the Relay here soon.

Is that glue residue all over the case edge?

Hardened plastic. Case comes sealed. Had to cut it open. I wasn’t too concerned about keeping it clean or resealable.

Ah, the lift glue is brittle and easy to break. I would imagine it’s the same with the v4 and the right tools.

I would like to test some defective Lift Gen 4 batteries. Can anyone tell me the pin assignment for the Fischer charging cable (5-pin)?

Yes, there is a built-in degassing valve

Can you not find the charger pin assignment and then use a multimeter to do a continuity test which would allow you to map the pins.

It seems that you need the original Lift charger. because this 5 pin is only the communications port. Or you can change the bms inside.Second option would be to find this charger on ali Express. Which exact type of Fischer charger do you have?

Pretty sure this isn’t a degassing valve for battery gas, or in event of a fire. It is a goretex valve to deal with temperature, altitude and barometric pressure changes.

Yes, correct therefor it is also. in case of fire it will burn away firstly or pop out completely. The case won’t explo so easy then without such a small valve. The low pressure regulation is also important to keep the battery away from any worst case scenario. Better build one in, no really disadvantage in that case I can see. Safety first🤙🏻

Here are the data cable pin correlations I was able to test… I know I’m a little late.
