Really cool. In wood, will it withstand the friction generated by repeated opening/closing ? What’s the plan then ? Will you post the STL file ?

there you go:

It was a Gimmick and test.
The plan is produced in POM and Aluminium.
Greetings frank

Due to the small pieces involved, wouldn’t a foldable prop be easier to CNC on a small stiff desktop CNC (Openbuild, Sainsmart, Aliexpress 2030…) than a normal prop like the ZT or FR bellow ?

Did you really CNC that with an router?

It’s more of a speed issue. The small desktop machines can cut POM fine, but are very slow on aluminium. For an Alu 2 blade prop they might do it in about 4-8 hours…
I can cut a POM folding hub in 30 minutes, but haven’t had time to cut blades yet as I am upgrading my CNC so that it will be stiffer and faster. Ideally I’d like to take max an hour for a fully completed prop.

4-8 house for DIY use is no problem. I not plan to do FR props for the community :rofl::rofl:
