My "Quick and Dirty" Tow Boogie, Foil Assist etc

I’ve been looking for way to seal my batteries and Rx asked a mate of mine he’s a drone expert and built some underwater drones and he uses this stuff has anyone tried this product before?

A long history on this forum, with alternatives sometimes:

When the dryer turned off and the plastic (PPA-CF) got a little damp…

You can dry it at 80 degrees Celsius for 8 hours, but if you need it quickly, preheat the oven to 120 degrees and dry for an hour.

I have used a similar liquid tape, only in aerosol form. I would not do a complete waterproofing of the battery with such a product. Again, I will note that I am not a big expert in this.

Interesting can I ask why not? Is it durability? I would think this would make a lighter pack . And for a flexible belt pack for assist it would be ideal. I’ll do some tests to see how it goes.
On different topic The battery pack I got from local battery builder is going well but batteries I bought from china myself has failed one cell in pack is dead. Totally got ripped off buying these cells.
Has anyone had anyone had any luck with these cells?

this is a timely reminder that there are plenty of counterfeit cells, and many dodgy sellers on aliexpress.

Fake cell wraps, refurbished cells, lots of creativity in the world of crooks… Unfortunately that comes with a massive risk for the end user.
Use only legit, trusted vendors when your life depends on it.

My makita batteries need refurbishing I’ll be using those batteries for that. But I need another pack. Just wondering if I should just use my local supplier he gets molicel direct off company

If you are based in Europe nkon.nl is reliable supplier, ordered several times from them, some of my packs work for 3Y now.

I’m not an expert at cells. But to be fair, this can happen with legit single cells as well. Happened with one of my 50s cells from NKON after pack was complete and tested.

Nkon is not such a reputable source, just one of the best available for end users in EU.
I hand my fait share of issues with nkon, with cells drop different dates, batch, plants… impossible to make a serial production. Akkuteille is ok.

Nice builds! For epoxy maybe consider RT-125 from Resin Tech. This is what we use to pot our electronics in our torque sensors that run on LMH and GT3 cars in LeMans and other race series. It is designed as a loom/boot sealant but it is flexible and can handle heat in the 110C-150C range. Its also used in our probe torque sensors that are in direct contact with transmission fluid at 150C running on some F1 cars.

I’m in WA Australia. I will just purchase from my local guy he buys direct off molicel. 1st pack I got off him seems to be going well

I looked in the trunk today and realized that I need to either reduce the number of boards or start painting them in dark colors to visually reduce their volume)

Or buy a bigger car😉

This could be a good Aussie available epoxy to try - or even this one EP2020 – High Strength Resin from the same company

I bolted this aluminum plate, made in the garage in a quick and dirty manner with a vice and a hammer, to the tow boogie. It completely eliminated the porpoising. The stern no longer bounces at any speed and I have no complaints about the handling.

The maximum speed has dropped slightly to 27.6 km/h. But when I return the tow to myself, even empty, it no longer lifts its nose.
