Have you tested your APD 200 F3 ?

It’s just been launched so no hindsight but would you have an opinion about the new HI200 75V High Current 200A ESC based on Vesc with water cooling enclosure ?

  • Voltage:14-75V( safe for 3-16S)
  • Continuous Current : 200A
  • Max Current :300A

I have one of the APD 200F3 but couldn’t find the time to test it properly since I am sticking with the Trampa 75/300 for now. I’ll report back when I get the time to.

Unfortunaltely I don’t. I am not an ESC expert. There are way more experienced users here that migh help. I’m just giving my opinion on some of the brands I know, it might help someone who knows :man_shrugging:t2:

Your opinion didn’t go unheard either… I will certainly consider the top-end brands when I get going. Besides why spend $600 on a motor, $800 on a battery, and yet only $200 on an esc.

This is something that is undermined very often! For an efoil/jetsurf project, I believe that your creation will only be as performing as its weakest component! I believe you should always try to align the quality level of all your different components. At least that’s what I realized from my personal experience!

Here is a little inspiration. According to James he reached around 50km/h on this MHZ setup.

I have the exact same setup. Even the ugly red board. The rig with me 130kg could never come to plane, so max 15km/h waterplow. My son at 25kg did come up to about 40km/h (not full gas).
I run it with 15s19s Liion instead of the 12S tattus or 14s SLS Lipos recommended. That might have been the problem as I could not push more than 170A (10kW).
For some-one weighing less than 80kg and having access to Big Lipos, this could be close to 50km/h.
Anyways as previously stated I’m selling the MHZ setup at 50% of new cost. Asking 2000€ excl battery and remote. Location south sweden.

Did you want to sell the speed controller or is this only a package deal?

Like stated by @Alexandre, he never managed to reach 50kmh. Maybe barely 25kmh.

When you see the jet specs on the market to reach 50kmh+ they all have a static thrust > 100kg. This unit only gives you about 40kg.

Can’t remember the jet board I saw with a double battery pack system, 16kw motor and 135kg of thrust for a top speed of around 60kmh.

I doubt the MHz unit can push you more than 30kmh

I’d be interested in the esc if you sell it separately

Pretty “crude” build but KISS and after all it works.
What do you think how fast he is going?

Are there any successfull single jet builds jet?
Till now I was only able to find working dual jet boards but no builds with a single jet.

Cause a few poeple in this chat are working on one…
May I ask how your progress is going?

In his previous videos he mentioned in the 40’s KM.
I believe him. I reach with my 6S 30 km. He is on 12S.
Just wait for my next build. It will be faster and on 12S too :slight_smile:

12S and close ups soon. Board still needs some work.
We are still trying to figure out where to put the foot straps.
