Old Winging Board as a tow boogie?

Has anyone used an old wing board successfully as a tow boogie instead of a body board? Some of the older style ones are quite wide and short, might even find one with some rocker?

I’m about to be giving this a shot myself. I have an old KT Wing Drifter 6’ x 30" with 130 liters of volume that I’m going to try turning into a dual motor boogie.

I’m hoping the foil tracks are far enough that I can use that as the mounting point for the motors but we’ll see when all the parts arrive.

You can find the motor mount for the tracks on my git.
I couldn’t progress with it because my kids block the board as an efoil…
So I just build a tow with a boogie board which is the easiest way.

My backup plan is also to use a boogie board if the wing board doesn’t work out.

I noticed in your build, you did a low center of gravity setup by having the battery in a cutout on the board.

Did you ever test a basic setup with a waterproof box running everything (including battery) on top, or was the cutout the initial design?

I’m curious because I’m trying to do the simple route first of a pelican box strapped to the top via foot strap screw holes. I’m not sure if the CoG is going to be too high with the box sitting on the deck rather than lower in the board though so I was curious if you tested that at all.
