# Parawing : making your own with a free DiY design software

How could Ensis/Gong/others be so fast to release a perfect parawing just 8 weeks after BRM ?
At 270€/$ psqm, do you find the parawing wings too expensive ? Can you use a sewing machine or want to learn ?
At 10€/$ psqm of 47gr PU coated polyester fabrics, making it could be the solution especially if you have a sewing machine or plan to buy one. A few hours to spare ?

Ordinary DiYers don’t own a laser cuter to cut their spinaker so either use a laser printer and use a hot wire cutter 😉 or send their dxf file to a CNC shop.

How to get plans and sewing practice ? Single skin paragliders plans measure between 15 and 25m2.
They could be reduced and their bridle tuned to the paraskiflex parawing type bar.
Then there is also RC paramotors wing plans available which are closer to the 3-6m2 surfaces we’re after.

Nice wing and top manufacturing quality. However, looking at how much it is arched, one can see it hasn’t been designed to work with short lines… the bridle has still to be tweaked to improve the projected area
Guys seem to have gotten better results than this.

Agree with seagull\_nz,
I am very happy with singleskin kite conversions, the inevitable kink in the arc is IMO not a big problem and is possible to be reduced by some more trim job, as allredy done.
But while planing further conversion maybe even up to high AR racekites.
The next project will be a complete DIY design, not shaped by me but Niklas:

I just will try to sew his patterns together to extend my 4 - 2,5 m² range down to 2,2 m² and hope to show first results in the next weeks.
