After looking at the housing it would have been nice if they added a mounting flange with screw holes so we can mount it without having to 3d print a mounting solution. This would also make exposing the heatsink through a box a bit easier for cooling. Or offer 2 variants, flange/no flange.

Biggest failure of all Chinese vesc housings! Simply have a mounting flange with bolt holes that allow for a waterproof seal.

@mekanism @Jezza
What do you mean?
Can you give pictures, examples?

And @mekanism why would you mount it in a box, if it is waterproof?

Similar to this but make it full perimeter flange so it can be mounted through a box or housing to expose the heat sink to water. I still think you will need some sort of box or enclosure as other electronics aren’t waterproof anyway.

I plan to mount this esc outside of a pelican and connected to the battery and receiver inside through a PG

How would you prevent the ESC from moving if mounted outside of the housing/box ? Adhesives ? Like @mekanism I had in mind a 3D printed ESC enclosure (not waterproof) guiding and masking the cables…

What do you mean by “PG”, even this without cut ?

I thought I would share a few photos of the unit I received. The ESC seems to be working fine after some trouble getting it to connect to my PC (I had outdated drivers, my computer is 12 years old). I haven’t connected it to a motor or receiver yet but the build quality looks great. The mounting plate is stainless steel and is heavy, and only has 2 screws holding the plate on but seems stout. I purchased the long cable am32 configuration. I included a ruler and a 6384 motor in the pics for scale.

I have a question that you might be able to answer. My homemade assist is with the typical 6384 and the ESC sequre 12200. I’m really happy with everything, but today I have a question: when I release the throttle trigger, the motor stops suddenly.
I think it’s fine, do you agree? Or should the deceleration be gradual and smooth?

Curious if anyone is using this with Escape32 and 6374 or 6384’s. The big appeal here is the waterproofing to give me some options on build experiments and this is the main esc that keeps coming up for me.

For our records, 145USD in Feb 2026. Is there a firmware that is more convenient for our use (efoil or assist) among the 3 possible ones (BLHeli\_32，AM32，ESCape32) ?

Any feedback regarding temperature of the esc in use ? Did you glue the ESC with the plate from sequre ?

I have a cable gland to run the cable from the esc to the inside of the box but I am wondering how to make it waterproof since is a few cables,

Do you have pictures to share ?

Any advice really appreciated mate
