Stl file for a gong v3 65161 motor mount

I will share mine, pretty much same as Kians at the end of January. 19mm, you"ll be able to produce them at PCBway

Yeah its the 17mm. I’ll check it compared to the V2 and see. Thanks!

I made an error with my initial statement about using dremel so check that so you don’t waste your time.

I’m trying to learn OnShape so am trying to “edit” the original parts to fit the V3 mast as a project to help learn. Way different than Tinkercad so steep learning curve. At the rate I’m going I will have it done in a few yearsđŸ€Ș

I have published a remix of @jkoljo motor mount for both the 17mm and 19mm masts. Please NOTE - I don’t have the actual masts to test fit - only the models posted in this topic.

I was under the impression that the Gong V3 masts were substantially different than the V2 version. Perhaps they are quite different from a performance perspective but the change seems pretty subtle to my thinking.

Turns out there are only minor measurement differences as they are all 130mm wide with similar height choices.

The V2 and V3 17mm masts are even matched in maximum width at 17

The V3 19mm is obviously wider than either of them but is very close in curvature to the V3 17mm

These are the measurements of the 17mm model from Kian and the 19mm model from Nabazul - produced by Bambu Studio

If I was to change from my V2 mast to one of the V3 choices I think I would pick the 19mm version as it’s purportedly “stiffer” as its usage description is for “wider” front foils.

Here is mine, will release next week. V3 19mm Gong

Not tested yet, very similar to Kians design. I need to test whether the head of the motor screw will be obstructed by the fillet or it will bend a bit.

C’mon Timotej
Looks like a copy paste of my version :disappointed:

I am going to stop posting new things here.

@Kian No offence, but you will not make a lot of money selling motor mounts, especially not for something that can be reproduced in 5 minutes.

I have kindly asked you for your step file for private use but was forced to make my own - and thats totally fine since this forum is about sharing knowledge.

On the brighter side, I truly prefer your father’s design vs. what else is on the free www. I encourage you to keep posting great stuff - whoever is not an engineer or CNC guy will still buy yours I believe.

If I (we) was in it for the money, I would have sold them for more than what a CNC company can make them for. Even if you make this at PCBWay, you’ll end up paying more than €80, and you’ll still need the rest of the hardware.

You asked me for the STL in a private message, and I explained why I’m not going to share it: it wouldn’t be fair to the people who bought the mount.

Anyway. You can encourage whatever you like. I’m not posting new things here anymore.

You are indeed correct that the price is going to be the same, but this just adds one more layer on top
if you are not here for the profit, why then not share it? So it would still be fair to others since the price is same if ordering via you or PCBway.

By the way, feel free to take mine and sell it to the guys who do not have CNC machines or CAD skills.

I believe you got offended for no good reason and just to be clear you said that you will not produce 19mm mast mounts.

I see. I misread your post. It’s for a 19mm mast. My mistake, and I’m sorry about that.

Your design for the 19mm looks great. Well done!

We’ve made some small updates to our 17mm version, and they should be finished by the end of next week.

We’re also working on some other non Gong mast versions, and they’ll be available soon.

One more thing: why not share it?
Been there, done that (my dad and not in this niche). It’ll just end up with other people making a profit from it!
