I have tried it along with others such as KIRI and none of them generated a file that was worth it as a starting point imo. The files all had significant artifacts that would be laborious to correct in a CAD program (at least with my limited CAD skill). All of them rely on the user moving an Iphone (in my case) around an object or having the object rotate as the phone was used. The results were heavily influenced by how steady and consistent the camera operator was, lighting and size of dataset etc.
My test object was a duct for efoil and after hours of trying I didn’t get anything useful that I could then easily edit. The YouTube vids make it look easy to get good results - for me not so much.
The purpose built scanners on the market seem to start at a few hundred and reach into the multi thousand dollar range. The price seems to be driven by the method of image capture.
