6384 waterproofing -what is the best way?

hello,
I just bought the cheap 6384 motor from aliexpress, and wonder what would be the ultimate way to waterproof it.

  1. I ordered X3 SS 6800 bearings from aliexpress. are they good? or i haveto buy ceramic? also, how can i disassemble the motor without harming the stator windings? should i put it in the oven?
  2. what is the best way to put the epoxy? i saw few methods:
    a) using epoxy primer spray
    b) using epoxy putty
    c) using epoxy with thinner, and brush it on the parts
    d) making a 3d template around the stator and rotor and pure epoxy inside

my main fears is to destroy the windings, to stuck the motor so it wont be able to spin, and to make not good enough epoxy cover and gut rust.

I’ve been running an ‘unwaterproofed’ AliExpress 6384 for almost a year. After pulling it apart and soldering on better cables replaced the bearings with ceramic and soaked the stator in Corrosion X for a day or two. After every use I pull it apart and spray both the magnets and the stator with pressure pack corrosion x. Not a hint of corrosion and always use it in salt water.
Stainless steel bearings are fine, more robust than ceramic.
Be super careful pulling the motor apart to access the end of the winding, usually the cables are glued to the cap and when you whack it off they can tear. I carefully heat the alloy cap and just tap it enough to see the windings and then with heat to melt the glue slowly release them. There is a good YouTube one of the guys on here made but he doesn’t show that potential risk.

You actually need two 6800 and one 6900 bearing for that motor. The Saite, Foil Drive motor uses three of the 6800’s.
