I had numerous problems setting up my Flipsky 75200 with VESC Tool from my PC, with some of them hard to reconcile. I followed a variety of YouTube videos, but didn’t help.
Each time I had limiting of power which I could see on the app as amps only going around 1 and being variable. My motor wouldn’t spin, just making noise, or only turning slowly.
The first time I solved it by using the motor setup wizard again and ticking the optional box for battery regenerative power and entering a maximum output value. Then I accidentally started the wizard again from the phone app, cancelling and again no power.
I then reconnected to the computer, did the same again, but still had some limiting of power. I played with the settings and the ERPM was set low, and when that was set to 100k it worked.
I spent many frustrating hours, including time on the phone to a friend who built drones and some small boat motors talking through the settings, and me off a cliff. He was confused as well.
I’m trying to work out if the problem is the 75200, VESC Tool, me or just bad luck.
In the end, when testing on the water on full power the amps sat closely around my setting of 50 amp and worked great, but I noticed that the speed indicator on the app was fixed on full throttle indicating the motor RPM was perfectly steady.
I’m wondering if the ERPM limit was reached, and the slight amp variation was maintaining the RPM that coincidentally was at my max amps. Which sounds like too much luck to be true.
Many questions for things that I don’t understand, any ideas?
