Super disappointing assist motor from

Alibaba. I like the design but it is not waterproof. It worked great on dry land but died in less than 15 seconds in the water.
Does anyone have an assist motor that works? My DIY motors have been mostly failures. I had a couple of good systems but I have had a lot of water ingress problems. I take my board in the surf and it gets pretty beat up.
Foil Drive has a pretty good system but I’m not ready to throw down $6,000 on an assist motor

Any Suggestions?

Put battery and esc in a waterproof abs box or in a pelican. Attach esc to outside heatsink, cable to motor through gland. Add Bec, receiver.
Put it in a backpack or attach on top of the board.
