Another Waist assist

Hello I’m sharing my build, most decisions are based on reading topics here. I’m learning to wingfoil, so the assist helps me go upwind all the time and take off on low-wind days.

I have enought cable to move the motor pod to the botom and use it like the duotone on cruise mode to practice on the foil ( i still need design and print a cable guide for my mast)

Parts:

Duotone Waist
AliExpress ip67 abs box
Flipsky 6384
Flipsky 75200 v2 esc
Flipsky vx5 remote
Ali m25 ip67 connectors
2m 3phase coil cable from Ali.
Motorpod. Printed a ziptype.
12s2p ampace jp40

My biggest concern right now is the box’s watertightness, anyway I’m using it on saltwater and everything is fine so far.

Any advice is superwelcome

Hello, cool build well done.

How are you fixing the box to the duotone belt?

I know someone on printables design a 3d part to secure the latches closed for this box

I printed some abs parts and “Welded” them to de box using acetone. I used four M4x25mm screws and nuts.

What size is your box?

make all the items in the box waterproof, then no worry about water in the box. i think soon or later always a litle water coms in

220x170x110. It fits good.

Yes, I still need to think on how to make the batery balance ports watertight.

Is the 75200 totally inside the box? Just need to be careful it doesn’t overheat. It may be a good idea to have an external heatsink that it sits against. Overheating, particularly with a back pack is the killer of electronics and battery

These pictures show a 75200 with the case opened and fitted to the outside of the box with marine sealant/adhesive. If you carefully cut the hole you can feed it in from the outside and still have a nice wide flange to seal against the outside of the box

You can then make a little wall and flood the electronics with two part silicone to make sure it’s fully waterproof.

As far as the battery goes, I print a shallow tray and sit the ends of the cells in it and again flood with silicone.
