Anybody used VESC with Flying Rodeo motor?

Flux the cables, use a blow torch instead of soldering iron. Those cables take a huge amount of heat as they are millitary spec cables.

Which stuff do you use for flux the cables? Kolophonium?
What temperature should the blow torch have (roughly)?

I use MG chemicals Rosin Flux (Flux Colophane)
I just set it to the max on the torch fitting:

I first get some solder on the cable, just be careful as the flux can draw the solder quite deep into the cable. I actually have the cable point slightly down so that it it doesnt draw in too deep.
The I hold the connector with needlenose pliers and heat it up with the torch and use, add some solder and then get it onto the cable.

Goot bs10 and 80w soldering iron , I recall no problem at the time

I think I soldered first the wire then « grind »it to the connector shape and soldered to the connector

Do it this way now on , so the wire is full

You could crimp it to a connector if it still refuses to accept solder when properly cleaned and fluxed.

If you can please Crimp connectors

Its 100% good connect betwen

Dave or Juha, do you have a photo of what the crimped connection would look like? and what the fitting is? Thanks

I am sure there are more applicable solutions for a specific board and specific use case, but here are a few options:

Or use something like this, but for 8 AWG (this is for 6AWG) https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Amphenol-Industrial/SLPPA16BSO?qs=G2fvz%2F8gJKKurY097qFkqw%3D%3D
