Board is 41l , 5’4 by 19" with a hatch for the electronics.
MKS 84100HP and BRemote2 receiver in semi-waterproof boxes. 4x6s batteries (EVE INR21700-40PL) so I can easily charge them in the car with cheap and tiny charger s. I put the batteries in freezer bags as secondary protection in case of minor amounts of water inside.
Motor is Flipsky 6384 with a modified pod that was shared by bzhwindtalker. Modified it so it had enough clearance for the wires of the Flipsky motor and opened in the back to easily get the wires with connector in and out.
So instead of getting rid of the case for the ESC, I got one of the 75200’s they sell really cheap right now. The cable layout also works better for me.
With a simple 3D printed case and alu bottom, this saved 220g compared to the 84100 with it’s heavy alu case.
Wow, very ugly. Did this happen right as you connected the battery or did it seem to spontaneously start smoking?
I had a 75200 like that short a 14S battery a few years ago. No smoke from the vesc, just a blown fuse.
I suppose this can make a case for an easy kill switch. Those used to feature on efoil builds but haven’t seen them on assist builds. Harder to integrate into a smaller space.
no, this happened after a while (>30s <5 minutes).
I heard an odd clicking sound when connecting, like a relay clicking and in hindside, I should have checked, since there should have been nothing that could have made that sound.
This was luckily no full short, batteries were not even slightly warm after.
I assume there must have been water inside my box that houses the ESC and the components on the undersided just slowly burned through.
