I’m working on the motor design now. I don’t know what kind of motor they use. If I knew what motor and ESC they used, the process would go faster.

Actually I want to install a Sifly or Waydoo style engine. I don’t know if a jet engine is efficient.

Hi. Looks great. Any chance of getting a plan and elevation will dimensions?

hello hello thank you,
length: 1760mm
width:720mm
height:130mm
height difference between the top and bottom of the surf is 150mm

I’m not sure if the dimensions are correct, maybe someone who drives an Audi can tell us the real dimensions.

@hsyn you should reconsider blatant copyright infringement. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

If you happen to make something that looks similar at small scale then the company likely would not care. Start using their name and trying to make an exact copy might get their attention.

I also did it 2 times  but scaled it down to my needs.
One small with 62 liters, a bigger one with 86 liters
I really like this shape.
Only at the the back I don‘t wanted the round shape. I modified a little bit.

The sizes of the original boards are listed on the original homepage.
With the available pictures you can scale to the size you prefer.

What’s the point of copying it, if i might ask? It’s just a board, an Audi board, whatever?

I honestly don’t get it, seems more fun to draw your own?

I like the shape. Good to have something to start from. Id be hot wire cutting so not much chance of a direct copy. Im about to launch my first build. I have modified a sic mako 5’ 7" 105l. They were on sale price here in nz.
I have a lot of respect for board designers, alot goes into subtle curves and angles that only trial and error can get the finished product performance optimized

looks great congratulations What brand and model of motor and driver did you use?

I made 3 different designs and production. I really liked this design for the sake of variety.

Thank you
I will make my first model with a CNC router and then get a mold, but I will make serious revisions to the design.

There is no infringement here, merely praising the original designer. So all Audi could do is say: “we’re honored even DIY individuals like out board shape THAT much”.
I really like it.

Well I didn’t realize you were the head of the legal department for the Volkswagen group and had made that decision. Good to know.

The point I was making was that brands such as Audi are proud and protective of their “luxury class” status and will sometime make an example of someone to ensure their patents are protected.

@hsyn said “I’m not sure if the dimensions are correct, maybe someone who drives an Audi can tell us the real dimensions.“

To me “real” and “exact” mean the same thing in this context, which is why I posted my response.

Just go the usual way and call it the “Avdi” or “Aubi” board haha

Aldi :D… because it’s gonna be a much cheaper version

This is a weird response. Ill suited for any community standard.

@MacIak

Sorry you feel offended - you could have just voiced that you like the shape but you declared my opinion was invalid with no explanation. Is that acceptable community behaviour in your opinion?

Let’s move on and not bother anyone else with this.

I do not feel offended, just don’t understand your response that’s all.
Unless OP has obtained the actual cad file by Audi, and if he commercially exploits or shares it, Audi COULD have a case.
In current situation they could send an army of lawyers at OP they can have a cup of tea and head back to HQ.
Current state is far from “blatant copyright infringement”, infringement of intellectual ip or patent. Is just a cad of an existing deck, drawn from scratch.
No need to be head of anything to figure that out.
