Best Lipo config for foil assist?

hey guys, looking to build a setup similar to the fd 2.0, not super keen on using 18650 cells so opting for lipos instead,
i have ordered:
flipsky 75100 esc
VX3 remote
flipsky 6384 motor
rider weight: 56kg
fairly experienced prone surfer and wing foiler

what would be the best lipo setup?
at the moment im thinking 2x 6s 10000mah or 1x 6s 10000mah

what would work and get me around the 40 minute mark of prone surfing?

Hi,

I have almost the same setup and I use four of these batteries:

Lipo from Hobbyking

there are also different options like:

Alternative

Hey I’ve been using a 10s3p 21700 Li-Ion setup but I spoke to someone who builds e-skate boards and he suggested trying LIPO.

How have your setups worked out? Any recommendations regarding LIPO size? Can’t find a lot of info on the forum of people who have used LIPOs.

There are a number of posts here talking about the pros and cons of both types.

Might want to search a bit about why lipos are not used much for our normal use case which isn’t eskate :grinning:

Thanks Foil Guy, I’m sifting through them.

@Larsb had some very clear detailed statements as I recall

Like this for example

No opinion from me but some experience, I got a tow boogie where I first used my 18650 based ebike battery that was 14s and around 900wh. Now this battery is older and I imagine degraded a bit, It ran my boogie for around 30-40min before voltage sag didnt let me get onto foil anymore even though 40+% of battery remained.

To not miss the season I ordered 4x12ah 6S Lipos (turnigy/hobbyking). Have them in series and parallel so 12s and maybe around 1000wh. I can pull higher amps out of these at lower voltage so can foil all the way to my set low voltage cutoff. This lets me ride around 1hr on the boogie.
