I have a 14s battery with a jibaida BMS with bluetooth which means i can turn the battery on and off in the app and a 75100 v2 vesc and I’d like to avoid sparks when connecting the two.
Can i turn the battery off, connect it to the vesc and then turn the battery on in the app or would the current still damage the vesc or BMS?
Yes, you can. I do the same with ANT BMS.
This will only work if you are powering the motor/system through the BMS!
In most uses (efoil) I know of, the BMS is only used when charging the battery.
No I use a JBD 240A/80A BMS in my sealed battery case for discharge and charging it’s been flawless for all of last year for both batteries. It doesn’t have a switch though so I have antispaarks connectors. The BMS takes so little current after having the batteries in storage all winter the voltage barely moved.
