Build from Leeds

Hi, my name is Konstantin, and this is my first e-foil build, which I completed for this summer season. It was a very interesting and challenging project. Thank you all for sharing your builds, ideas, and experiences. Without this forum, I probably wouldn’t have started this build.

Very nice build! Hopefully you’ve had many trouble free hours of riding.
What battery cells/configuration are you using? They look different from most of the packs seen on the forum.

What is up with the photo of the “private” email?

Thanks! Surprisingly, the board has worked flawlessly since the first day I put it in the water, and after around 13 hours of use, it hasn’t had any issues. Battery is 12s1p made of CATL cells, 50Ah.

Thanks, already sorted :ok_hand::sunglasses:

Really nice build. I use the same cells, you should put gfk plates between the cells. Because only the little bit of blue thin shrink tube is your Isolation as it looks on the picture. I would also fuse the + Pole of the battery instead of the - Pole.

How did you connect all the cells because some screws are far away from each other? Normally busbars do the Job but they are only 50mm in the main time.

I used kapton tape in between the cells and 20x3 copper busbars to connect both sides… cells sits super tight in a battery box and has zero movement so pretty sure there will be no any shortcuts inside :crossed_fingers:

Hi Konstantin, very clean board ! Are these CATL batteries LFP or NMC? Could you share the references? How long they typically last?

Thank you! Cells are NMC, can’t remember specs now as bought them few years ago for my electric motorcycle project, only remember they are 5C discharge rate…

Are these similar to yours?
