Building a DIY foil assist using a foil drive motor

A friend has a spare gen2 foil drive motor and pod for my board. I was wondering if someone has used the foil drive motor and built their own box with the ESC/Controller and Battery? Also can anyone tell me exactly what motor the gen2 foil drive motor is?

Would the flipsky 75200 ESC be a good choice for this or is that overkill?
I know the remote/battery options are in other threads but I would think a Flipsky waterproof remote controller and a 3kw battery pack should do the trick?

Thanks!

FD probably use 6374.
Recently people build foil-assist using:

  • 6384
  • XCross non-vesc 120A/160A and VESC as well but with more difficulties
  • waterproof box or case on top / inside / even beneath
    the board
  • vx3 / BRemote / Maytech remote
