I have build a rifle case efoil and fallen in love with the sport. I however do not like the issues that come with the rifle case (waterproofing, hard to get up, even harder to learn overall).
Thus Im thinking of upgrading the board part of my build. I do not want to build the board myself - foams, epoxy, CF - not my cup of tea.
I was thinking of best options for buying a commercial bare board and then converting my rifle case parts to be compatible.
Lift and Flite are obvious ones and could find some builds on the forum but what other options are there?
Anyone have experience doing a build on those?
@Kian Can you remove these parts from the Fliteboard to make extra room for battery? If its possible seems like max dimensions for battery are 390x305x80? My 14s12p pack is really close to the length (390) limit so every millimeter counts.
The dimensions you mention are the same as Fliteboard spec for their largest Explore battery which I assume fills the compartment.
The two items are retention points for the battery so logically are not structural or have anything to do with the water resistance of the board but I don’t think anyone has removed them before.
If your battery pack is less than 390 is should fit without removing them I would think.
Yes, we removed them.
However, for one of our latest builds, we designed a new front lock ledge so our batteries latch nicely underneath it.
Just make sure you fill the screw holes with some “glue” .
