Daniels (un)geared inflatable (slowly built)

Instead of cable glands and couplers, I installed female flanged sockets directly to the battery/ESC Box. I cut out a part of the box and glued a part with inserts to match the new sockets.

I’m curious about how your height measurement sensor has worked out for you.

Specifically I’m wondering if glancing down to see the led sequence/color for height might actually distract your attention from flight path.

My flimsy attempt at explaining the above statement is that in extremely calm mirror like surface I have to maintain absolute focus on horizon to fly without beaching or touchdown. Taking my eyes off that focus typically results in a bobble.

Wondering if audio feedback would be possible??

Of coarse you also need to look where you’re going but if you keep the board at a height in the “green” range, you stay at the same height and don’t breach. Acoustic signal would be possible, something like a variometer for paragliders. As I wear a helmet with ear pads to protect my ear drums, the accoustic signal would have to be rather loud. I think it would be annoying.

I need to build a motor pod for north masts until tomorrow.
Can you help me with the mast design?
Is it compatible with any other brand? Thanks!

I don’t use a north mast, I just use the Sonar Foils on a RL mast and fuselage. If it is an alu mast, you can take a picture from the profile, put it on a canvas in fusion360 and scale it to the actual size. Then you can draw the profile outline with splines, folowing the outline on the picture. Extrude the profile and you have a model of the mast. With this model you can “stamp” out the shape of the mast (use the “combine” function, mast as tool).

Which motor do you want to mount? I have a fusion file for an APS 63100 ourunner I could provide as an example, as is.

A 6384. I am using the nano pod. If you could provide me the file (shape of the mast) I could create an adapter for the nano pod. Thanks!

For the nano pod with flexible TPU insert and ajustable strap I think you can use it on any mast. Might not be a perfect fit but if you print the tpu with less infill it should adapt to the shape. For the width of the mast you have the strap that can be adapted. Later you can improve and design a TPU insert that matches the mast profile.

thank you, less infill is a good idea!
