Can anyone using the Malectrics Spot welder powered by a 3s lipo recommend best pulse duration settings for welding 0.15 pure nickel to 18650 batteries.
I found it depended on the battery charge. If I remember correctly on full charge I used 15ms and on and empty battery I used 20ms. I pretty much just adjusted it accordingly.
It depends on the C rating max , 480A : 15ms , 780A : 9ms
You may have to test as long as you go on 2 nickel strip , when voltage decrease time will need be increased , it is not energy regulated
Test on 2 x 0,15 nickel strip , so you don’t make a hole , 18650 terminal’s are ticker
Hey, can you tell me what BMS you used for 14S charge only?
I used one from amazon, cost around 30€
I use this one because you can control al parameters with your phone. At first I wanted to use it for discharge also but it is kind of big, so I use it for charging only and made a balance connector on my 14s11p battery.

This is my charge setup. I connect battery negative to bms. Battery positive and bms negative to charger. Balance and temperature connector are also connected to bms.
Thanks, so your BMS is purely part of your Charger and not on the board at all?
That is correct, because it takes to much space in my box.
