Do the big wings caused higher load to the prop?

hello again, my sabo efoil comes with its own wing set and I exchanged the wings with my friend who used explorer wings from waveshark efoil which are a lot bigger heavier and thicker.
Does this caused the motor to work harder until the esc cut down the power to save the motor?
might be silly question but I am just curious.
thanks all

It depends on the speed I think a big thick wing will have a lot of lift so at low speed you will need less motor power to just cruze around versus a thinner wing. But big thick wings have a lot of drag so as you want to go faster the the thinner and higher aspect wings will need less power they will also glide more when you cut power.

Difficult to receive a specific answer without you providing a lot of detail however simple logic would say if motor is working “harder” your battery won’t last as long during a session.

Let’s say your battery lasts for 30min foiling at speed X

Change the foil setup and do a session at comparable style and speed and see if the battery lasts longer or shorter.

Changing a foil setup shouldn’t cause any damage if that’s your concern.
