Do you trust the cable gland?

Hi! I’m almost finished with my foil assist.
I was just wondering if you guys add additional glue to the cable gland? I have added silicon glue to the outside and I am wondering if I should also put something on the inside.
Is it enough to rely on the screw and the rubber ring? Thanks a lot!
I didn’t do a specific post, since I copied a build with 12s2p with flycolor x Cross hv3 esc… nothing new here

Yes.

I haven’t seen any issues with the cable gland, but as others have noted, the cable itself can wick moisture through it.

I once used silicone as extra protection in a cable gland.

Some months later the cable gland was all brittle due to the silicone.
I could easily break the gland with my fingers!

I guess the silicone had effect on the cable gland material (it was a white colored version)

Thanks for your answer! I tightend it with a wrench and tried not to over do it. So far no water came in. I only tested it for several hours submerged in my bathtub though

Thank you!
Real-world experiences like this help prevent future disappointments!
I’m now thinking that the cable could be covered with dielectric grease just in case.
