I have been using 12S / 3 P with Molicel P45B on a gong 65 L board and Foil Axis art 1099… with Flipsky 75100 pro Motor 6384 epoxy by myself …vesc embended under the mast and battery back on top inside the the board . I m 85 kgs plenty of power and time for catching waves…
but since flipsky has produced a 6384 who can support 16S , i was wondering if anyone has tried this motor on 16s ? since we need a huge boost for take off I will try a setup on 18650/3000 mah on 2 x 8s3p in series …I want to lower the amp to 60a max on 2 blades set up …
any thoughts ?
Motors a rated for amps, voltage rating is usually to limit max rpm beacuase of the bearings and “out of balance” problems (vibrations). If you keep amps within the limit the wires can handle, I see no problem. You might still need high amps to get enough torque at low speed (launch).
yes but if I pull 90A on take off with 12S I should pull much less amp on 16S …thats the basic of putting more voltage to reduce the amps ?
No, you will pull less amps from the battery but the amps going to the motor (90A) will be the same. If you want your motor amps to go down you have to install a smaller propeller to get the RPM on the motor up. You will only have a higher top speed if you change from 12 to 16S on the same setup.
