E foil on a budget

Hi my name is Simon and i’ve always wanted to buil an e foil but never got around to doing that becuse of lack of time.I would like to ask some questions since this seems to be the perfect place for it!First of all i would like to know if it would be possible to build one for 1000 euros or less.I have a board that will work and the foil i am looking at costs around 270 euros (link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32857409005.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.21.ef906e0cfEhNcg) so basically idealy i would want to spend 700 or less for the motor ,esc and the rest of the needed parts for the propulsion system except for the controller and receiver since i have plenty of those (I have a lot of experience with various rc drones)

The motor i have in mind is the SSS 56104 KV500.Will this work?

Also here is the the esc i was looking at:1)FVT RC Boat Parts 5-12s 200A Brushless ESC Without BEC For RC Models Sale - Banggood USA
One question i also have since batteries are really expensive if i used 2 6s 10000 mAh would i get enough speed and would i be able to ride for a decent amoun of time?

What are your suggestions? Can this work and if so which parts do you suggest?Which build from the other users should i look at/follow?Thanks in advance!!!

P.S.Some of the parts i am looking at might not be able to work at all and my questions might be a bit dumb but i’m very new to this so excuse me.Excited to learn and explore the world of e foils!

I’m sure it’s not possible from first try. Prices without shipping and VAT:
200$ - battery cells (in my case 6Ah*4)
500$ - mast, wings
200$ - ESC
200$ - motor

And a lot of components you should buy. If you able to make mast, wings from first try - you will save half.
See this build 80100 Build from Netherlands - Builds - FOIL.zone and check google document. You even haven’t list of details to check 1000EUR limit.

I think if you not ready to spend 2000EUR - don’t start.

If you are lucky, it will work.

Choose another motor e.g. B. 63100 or even cheaper 6384.
Batteries ok
ESC OK.
Travel time with 6s and depending on your own weight, 2x 6s 10000mAh for 25 to 30min could be enough.
Greetings Frank

Thanks for the reply!!Do you think it’s worth buying a 3d printer to make the needed housings? Can i buy them somewhere else? Also are you sure the motors you recomend are going to be powerfull enough to pick up decent speed considering i am 85 kg?If you have any better suggestions they would be grately apreciated!

I am 85kg and i would like to beleive i am very good at making things because i’ve been doing different DIY projects since i was very young. Thanks for the reply! Also do you think it’s worth buying a 3d printer to make the needed housings? Can i buy them somewhere else?

Then you should try build something like Anet AM8
It will cost you ~100-150$ but will works like printers for 200$+

Thanks!A friend recomended this one too, what do you think? :https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000665910874.html?spm=2114.12010615.8148356.1.cdcd5ffcYzgVm7

If you buy a 3d printer, get something like the creality ender 3. They work brilliantly out the box!
Motor wise I would get the flipsky 65161 120kv off banggood. ESC wise I would go for a 75v 200a vesc.
Foil wise look around for a second hand gong foil. Sometimes they come up super cheap.

Thanks for the reply!Do you think the foil i linked will work if i can’t find a used one?

It says the shipping is 100euro.
I wouldn’t go for that foil, it’s an old style and there are better options out there. Facebook and ebay always have good second hand options, as well as the gong forum.

I have an SSS 56104 for sale. If your interested in that motor I can offer it to you for a decent price.
