eFoil Battery Packs

Would you have the RS link (s) ?

I use surlok model. Itā€™s little different from this one and I think it has more mating cycles as far as I remember.

Here are all the different amperage connectors: https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/search.html?searchTerm=Surelok

I use 120A continuous current ones. as per specs it has 100+ mating cycles.

more than enough for the use.

Thanks. To focus on 120A items on 1 page: https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/search.html?searchTerm=Surlok+120A

This would be fantastic . Iā€™d definitely order this as soon as itā€™s ready. Perhaps even with pack actually. Swelling LiPoā€™s have me wanting to get away from them.

Where ist the balancing port?

But all these connectors are not anti spark, correct?

Hi Robert,

I think the BMS is inside the boxā€¦

Yes bms inside the box takes care of balancing and other safety functionsā€¦

About the anti spark we have a magnetic switch system so if no magnet the output is off therefore no spark.

So far, safety magnetic switches could not cut a high current alone, they needed an associated high power switch (solid state relay, FETā€¦) that could cope with the arcs + the ESC receiving a beat up. Therefore your antispark wiring post to that regard and your pointer to the Hobbywing Platinum HV200A ESC.
Would you introduce us your antispark solution that does not require any relay powered by the battery ? How do you prevent your ESC capacitors not to charge under tension when you connect your battery ?

Wellā€¦ It controls the bmsā€¦ Not the power lineā€¦

So in fact it controls the bms FET

Consider it as a dry contact input to the custom bms

Did you get any information about the Batterys? The Deal seems to be good.

Do you use the BMS as an antispark power switch when the safety magnetic kill switch opens then (low current) ?

yes this is kind of what we have in mind and will be testing soon (our test pack with this BMS system expected shortly)

Iā€™ve been leaning towards transitioning from soft poly packs to cell (18650, etc.) packs. Mostly due to having a pair of Turnigyā€™s swell somewhat very early in their life and my disappointment with that. But Iā€™m not sure that my desire to change over is really warranted and backed by facts of that actually being a safer route (other than resistance to impact). I see others I respect on here having discussed the same transition, so Iā€™m curious what those reasons are. Thanks all.

Hi,

i like your connectors and got now also a pair from it. (Red/Black)
It looks promising but i have a Problem. How you mount the cable inside the hole connector?

You have to crimp it and use 2 awg cable
IWISS Battery Cable Lug Crimping Tool from AWG 8-1/0 with Cable Cutter Amazon.com

Make sure when you are crimping to hold the cable and crimper straight so the crimp section doesnt gets tilted

Came across this box. Seems vendor has good reviews but they didnā€™t respond to my questions. Height is little high but it can feed for most of the DIY boards. ny board requires battery box to be less than 87mm

@samisin Not much choice for your board , check maxgrip 4 and maxgrip 3 ( I fit a 6s14p folded)
