Yes, just like this, thanks for the inspiration.
That sure allows a steamlined fairing. Have you any concern about the loss of strength in the mast? My gut feeling is its fine since the most stress is at the board end.
I did have some concerns but thinking i moved to the V2 mast which is a lot stronger and Efoils generally don’t see the stresses seen in kitefoiling, I thought it would be ok.

This is the type of connector i used for the balance wires
The main QS8 connectors i used for the power cable aren’t waterproof but i did cast a silicone shield around them for a bit of extra security.
I test the board in the sea and it ended up pulling a vacuum on the lid which meant it was sealed. Finally i have a dry hatch 
my old one used to let a few drops in.
