Fire damage lift efoil for sale in Auckland NZ

The Lift efoil on fire that did the rounds online a couple of months back is for sale in Auckland.

Looks mostly complete. A new battery and some diy repairs would probably get it going again, or make a great starting point with the motor and mast.

Surprised lift didn’t buy it back from them for investigation.

Just to be clear, I’m not selling it, I just saw the listing.

I picked the board up free as its basically trash (assuming someone bought the mast). Surprised to see all the electronics in the box are mint. So if anyone needs parts haha…

Hatch lid is buggered, so will make a new one and use the latches and hinges from the cooked one.

Board itself is marginal. Exterior still good, but the localised hotspot from the fire has melted part way into the foam. Will be a bit messy but from what I can tell its not far into the foam so I’ll likely just cut the burnt crap out and throw some expanding PU foam in place. Cover with some dodgy glass patchwork and call it a day.

I’m quite impressed the board is in the condition it’s in considering the battery burnt inside the board - and after seeing the lithium battery…

That’s great, stoked someone managed to pick it up. Shame you didn’t get the foil and motor as well. What a bargain.

All works well - ended up being quite a job cleaning all the fire residue off it but works fairly well. Just need to sort the right kV motor (I’m using an old sample with is 70kV so even with 14S it spins out pretty quick).

Nice work salvaging the board! I think most efoils end up using a 100kV or 120kV motor if you do a 65161 inrunner. The 63xx outrunners are usually 130kV or 140kV and also seem to work out fine. I’ve been using a 120kV 65161 with a Flite prop (like you seem to have there?) and it works quite well.
I’m curious about your motor mount, it looks like it could be 65161 or similar? Do you happen have any 3D print stl files? My searches through the forum haven’t turned up many options for mounting 65mm diameter motors to an Axis mast.

Yeah I just wanted to get it working with motors I already had - I don’t really use this it’s more for mates etc. wanting to learn so can’t justify buying a new 65161. My foil assists get much more use and they’re the usual 130kV - I might put an outrunner on it if I get time. Good spotting the Flite prop (It’s now a true franken-efoil ;))

Try this link for the mount. It’s a quick and dirty design but does the job fine - from memory I ‘tweaked it’ with a dremel.
