Tested my first build earlier today and it seems to reach max rpm around 15-20% throttle (as shown on my maytech remote). No further increase in rpm at the prop is seen from 20 to 100%. I have the same issue when running on battery or using my charger in bench/power mode. I’m running a sequre 14200 pro ESC.

Any ideas what the problem could be? It’s like it’s got an rpm limit on it . Has my ESC been set up wrong perhaps and if so, what do I need to change in BLheli?

My other thought is… is it possible I have a bad solder/connection on one of the 3 cable wires (from esc to motor)? It’s running smoothly but with barely any RPMs so I’m not sure it’s a bad connection? Would it run at all with just 2 of the phase wires.

Any thoughts appreciated

Unloaded in air or in water?

Needs to be underwater/ under load to get any rpm control with normal esc settings.

I’m doing this in air unloaded. It’s an AliExpress 6384 motor

This is normal behavior. Once you get some load/resistance from water on it, it will work as should.

Thanks! Are u sure? I’ve seen video footage of other people testing in air and their prop spins like crazy. Mine looks like it would only move me around at about 2 mph laying on my board

Sorry. Misread your 1st post.
It should go full RPM from 0 to 100 when no resistance om motor.
It only running slow at full speed is no good
