A Tow boogie was going to be my next project… well I have a few on the go but it is on the list. I love the design did you make that yourself? I will reach out on whats app so we don’t hijack the build thread.
@Airtimeasto love the boggie design. does it self-right? do you have any files to share or dimensions/volume? Thanks!
I don’t get that AI says it’s a battery issue… so are you running P50B Molicels currently ? They are 5000mAH and 60 amp.
My guess would be the esc not the battery. The Flipsky XCross 160A does a very similar thing with cutout.
There is a waterproof Sequre 200A and they seem to be really good from all reports. Easy to program. I just bought the 14200 non waterproof to try out. All my experience with the XCross shows that above about 2000W they cut out.
That exposed ESC will not survive for long, especially not in sea water. I fried so many (v)escs over time, most of them because of water ingress, even fresh water kills them. I you replace the esc I sugghest to put it inside the battery cavity or in a box under the mast. Cooling needs to be addressed.
Agree, far better to enclose the esc in a sealed box - just seeking something like for like with what the guy already has. This is totally encapsulated and designed to run in water, Tue main issue I could see would be water creeping in between the epoxy and the cable sheath if the silicone sheath doesn’t bond properly to the epoxy.
Does that Sequre enclosure seem any better. Doing a build based around this sort of exposed esc. But might add a silicone around that if they fail that easily.
I’ve checked battery to see if there’s any corrosion on it and nothing. I’ve plugged into program card again to check if throttle was set to soft and low voltage cut off was set to 3.2v so I’ve now changed that to 3.0v and tested with pressure on motor seems better but will only know when get in water.
I have a 150amp 6.8 mini vesc from flipsky that I want to try with the 6374 motor to see how it goes and play with vesc programming.
As for esc out side these esc’s are fully potted in epoxy I’ve been running them for a few months now I wash in fresh water and spray Lano spray and corrosion X every ride. I can’t see how the water will get into them?
