Just another Fliteair matching Battery 37ah 14s in PE case
Did you vacuum form the case?
Just so you know, but carbon is conductive, you better isolate it very very properly. The lug resting against the carbon fiber makes me worried…
No vacuum forming needed. PE Polyethylene is very easy to weld and not conductive. It is no carbon. If you heat it up you can bend it like you want.
Nevermind then, it really looked like carbon from the topside.
I’m actually a bit curious about this process with the polyethylene. I did something similar with plexiglass and fused the pieces together with acrylic cement, but I am not thrilled with how it turned out. Very rigid with sharp edges.
Do you use a heat gun to warm up pieces and then bend side wall pieces in place in the fliteboard cavity?
Then what did you use for the welding process?
Yes @S_Roger I heated the sidewalls with heatgun and bend it in the shape of the fliteboard first, then cut out this shape for the bottom and the lid then weld these 3 parts all together. Acryl breaks to easy PE is much better and softer, you can grind it easy for finishing at the end. Comes out very soft and feels like the fliteair itself when you touch it.
