Pretty much complete kit available for sale. Looking for expressions of interest on components to build your own faux drive. Price dependant on how much gear you need, but all new unused components will be at cost.
I purchased 2 sets of components, thinking that my first build would have problems, I would improve it and then make the final version. My first build worked perfectly and now I have a whole bunch of gear surplus to requirements.
Maytek remote, 6384 motor 2 avail (I waterproofed it), waterproof box 2x from USA (same as FD) and all the small stuff (cable, battery gauge, plugs, motor mount, cable guide, Velcro, glands, attachment straps, solder, waterproof glue heat shrink).
Also have engine mount, Perspex for box mount, trailing edge fairings, epoxy resin and various almost finished prop blades and hubs if required.
Can also help with getting very high quality battery made in Sydney if required.
You can check out my completed version and see how it comes together.
Let me know how much of completed kit you might be interested in and I’ll let you know the cost.
Would you mind show us your waterproofed box ? Some of us might be interested. Does it require waterproofed battery ?
Hi, here are a few pics. The box with clear lid is from USA and is the same one FD uses. (Brand new). The one with the grey lid failed my waterproof testing, but should be fine with a decent seal (replace with a thicker lid gasket seal).
The battery doesn’t need waterproofing as the box is watertight. I got my battery fully encased in silicone just in case, but next time I would not, due the extra cost and weight.
Thanks for the reply,
Have you had good success with this Flipsky Mini FSESC 6.7 ? No overheating, good power ?
It’s such a tiny VESC
VESC is brand new, I haven’t tested it. Capable 200A and 70A continuous. I have read people have used them internally in the box, without issue, but was planning on mounting the heatsink externally in the bottom of the box for maximum cooling. This build was supposed to be the same as the FD assist, hence the identical box, remote and VESC mounted in bottom of box.
