Hello,
yesterday I tried the first time to use my foil assist system with a wing. Light wind but enough to get the wing flying on its own.
It worked surprisingly good. Stand up on the board was much easier with the wing in hands. I Jimmy Rigged the remote to the wing, si it was rather difficult to control the trigger. Today I printed this holder out of TPU (flex material) and hope to be able to try it out soon.
How do you handle the remote when foilng with a wing? Or does anybody do it anyways?
Best regards,
Toom
Hello @TOOM, what a great idea! I have been wing foiling for a few years, and struggle with light winds as well. We recently purchased a Foil Drive system for one of our boards and your remote holder looks like it’d be a great addition. Any chance you’d be willing to share the STL file? Thank you,
Tom.
I use FD max with sport battery for LW winging, FD remote is on a small reel leash attached to my impact vest on my chest. The reel extends about 1m. Right hand forward on the boom, I use thumb and index finger to hold the remote/trigger and the other three fingers to hold onto the boom. Once on foil I just drop the remote that gets pulled to my chest by the reel and stays there. The reel has a magnetic hold when fully retracted so the remote doesn’t dangle around.
