Each approved upload gives you 1 download. With 10 approved uploads, you unlock unlimited downloads. All submissions go through moderation before appearing in the catalog. Duplicate, corrupted, or non-hydrofoil files are not allowed. Respect other members and contribute with quality.
Well, centralizing all the mast profiles, the baseplates, the pods or even props in one place would be ideal as finding them in the forum can currently be a daunting task…
Agree with you though on the need for approval/validation
Sharing your own files → great.
Sharing files someone else uploded somewhere so you can get access → pretty borderline.
I imagine many people would not be happy and consider simply not sharing anything anymore.
Sharing commercial designs → not sure.
There are real people working there with real jobs.
I am probably opportunistic enough, that I would use them, but its really not a great idea. Especially in a niche market like foiling.
I’m of the opinion that this won’t sustain itself.
Someone or a group of people have to manage the library somehow. When they move on who does that?
There are already lots of 3D sharing spaces that users here already use.
I notice in this forum that there seem to be clusters of people working on similar projects - full efoil, tow boogie, backpack foil assist etc. that share with each other. Someone new comes along after that peaks - reads some posts and if they can’t find a file link they ask and typically someone accommodates them.
Not sure this isn’t a solution looking for a problem.
