I have a hard time just foiling in glassy calm water let alone running a video camera and having the lighting change that much in a short time 
Once in a lifetime ride!

Amazing video wow! foiling in the dark seems a bit daunting, but like you say once in a lifetime. Bravo!
Freestylers (windsurf, …) learn to practice with closed eyes to feel the different inertia and pendulum effects with their muscles.

That was my attempt to self-deprecate my riding ability vs his. Obviously he is a very experienced rider.
I can in fact foil in glassy calm water but find it challenging to accurately guage height above the water surface. That ability to not touchdown or breach the surface imo is completely dependent on using my vision. Closing my eyes would only make that a lot harder and I would NOT consider doing that in any circumstance.
Perhaps you could post on some of your personal foiling experiences.
