Is Flipsky a good company?

Background: I’m designing a small hydrofoil boat, I need a more powerful motor than normal e-foil. Specs for the Flipsky 90165 look great with claimed 8.8kW rated/ 20kW max power.

Are their products reliable?
Is the customer/ technical support good?
I’m in the US— how difficult is it to import their products here? Anyone know about tariffs— how much and how I would pay?

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ted

I have some motors from Flipsky and they all work reliably.
One had a minor issue and they sent me a new one without issues.

I had a VX3 remote that failed after a few uses but also 11 weeks after the purchase.

Their warranty conditions call motors, ESC and remotes “consumables” and the period is 3 months.

After they confirmed I was out of that timeframe, they did not even respond to basic emails anymore.

So I would say the products are OK, but do not expect any warranty or support after three months.

yes here to flipsky. so far so good. (esc 75200, motor 65161 , remote vx5)

Welcome

I would suggest you use the search tool of the forum to read up and base your purchase decision on that. Flipsky and Maytech are the two main players in use here.

The additional costs the tariffs add to the total are challenging to determine as they seem to be in almost constant flux but you don’t have much choice. The motors are pretty much all from China so you likely won’t know until after you get the final customs clearance invoice

Is this it? Beast of a motor!!

If you not afraid of spending money, look at Neu Motors. They are the highest quality and in the USA, just not cheap at all. They can also make custom for your application if need be.
