Hi,
Is this Flipsky switch really waterproof ?
Thanks
If it moves it’s probably not going to be waterproof for submersion in salt water. If you soaked it in corrosion x it might last a while though.
Waydoo efoils had a similar switch and it looked like a lot have failed and they have since moved to a different style.
Which switch do you recommend? For foil assist or tow boogie. I searched for Waydoo efoil switch on google but I didn’t find
I am working on a Foil Drive like setup but more efoil oriented. I will be using this switch since it comes with the 75100 and it is specially designed to be spark resistant. I am placing the switch inside a waterproof connect body.
I really need a waterproof switch.
I read the forum for that, I didn’t find yet. (reading english takes a long time for me)
I have used a good one here NEW DIY Foil Drive Assist KILLER from Austria - #48 by heiguga
But can’t find the supplier. I guess it was rs components.
Print up a shell with thick sidewalls and partially pot the base of the switch into the shell then near the top where the switch activates fill with corrosionx grease and vhb dyneema fabric over the top to seal out water
A good test is to try and blow though the switch. If you feel air moving then its not waterproof.
I think the best method is to use a proximity switch inside the waterproof case, and a magnetic puck on outside the case. You can get the proximity switches on Aliexpress
is that a switch or a button? if it’s a button, why not use a reed instead? you’d just need a magnet.
Button or switch, sorry for my english, I need something waterproof and easy. Thanks for your 2 solutions but I prefer to buy something easier
This button is not completely waterproof. Ive had the same and after some time water got inside which resulted in a resistance of ~30kOhm instead of the open loop which was enough to make my antispark switch turn on and off with a high frequency until it melted.
I recommend getting one with a proper membrane over any moving parts.
