I’m currently working on my eFoil build and wanted to share the components I’m using, along with an issue I’ve run into regarding CAN communication:
Components:
- Trampa VESC 6 HP
- Trampa VESC BMS
- Trampa VESC Express
- Flipsky 65161 motor
- Flipsky VX3 Pro
The motor runs smoothly in both FOC and BLDC modes as long as the VESC BMS is not connected via CAN to the VESC 6 HP.
As soon as I connect the VESC BMS over CAN, the motor no longer responds to throttle input.
If I connect only the VESC Express via CAN, everything works fine.
If I connect only the VESC BMS, the motor doesn’t run.
So it seems the issue arises when the VESC BMS is connected via CAN, even on its own.
Has anyone experienced something similar? I’d really appreciate any tips or suggestions on how to get all three components working together over CAN.
