Material recomendation for board body

Hey everyone,
I’m currently trying to decide what material to use for shaping the board’s body. I’ll be cutting the shape on a CNC machine, so I’m also wondering what material properties are important for that process.
Would it be okay to just use the cheapest styrofoam blocks from the hardware store, or is it worth investing in something better?

Insulation XPS works well, at least the stuff they sell here.

You just need to roughen up the surface or laminate might not bond very well.
I actually use a tool called " Wartenberg wheel" to create tiny holes on the surface.

For cutting on the CNC Saburrtooth cutters work well with XPS and are rather inexpensive.
