Motor connectors options

Hi there
Anyone got any suggestions/links for waterproof connectors on the 3 wires going from the vesc to the motor. I currently have them hardwired but looking for something that makes dismantling or swapping equipment easier.

Was consider using solar panel connectors.

Thanks

Amphenol if you want good quality, they are not chaep but they last. 5.7mm 120A should be sufficiant. You can get them straight or 90 degrees, in red orange and black. Take the ones without key, easier to connect. If you mix them up, nothing happenes apart from the motor spinning backwards

There are also some Ali knockoffs which are OK, they are NOT compatible with Amphenol. I use these for quite some time, 120A version:

Hi, I recently had a look around the onshape library.

It’s basically the foil drive connector. Not sure which rubber seal is the best here. I also haven’t tested them yet.

There is also the world famous @hangloose waterproof connector, tested and trusted from many here in the forum.

This is for MR60, ok for foil assist but too small for efoil, it will melt if you push 100A for some time.

Yes true! Then there is the hangloose connector für up to 400 amps

I also desined a 3 phase version with 5.5mm rc connector pins. Same system as the 400A version from @hangloose but a bit smaller. Has not been tested, it shoud be OK for 120A. I‘ll share them once tested.

i use solar cable connectors. works fine and waterproof. just a litle fiddle to get them open (with extra tool)

After researching and comparing with what most guys are using MR60/MT60 I’ve found this connectors: M29 female pin female connector_China Aviation Connector_Waterproof socket_Industrial connector_Shenzhen Lilutong Connector Co., Ltd.
llt-m29-45003f1062
The casing is 33mm diameter, not as small but keep in mind it has 3 4mm pins while MT60 has 3.5mm pins.
Not sure if they are gold plated as good sourced MT60/MR90 should be. So it’s an option specially if you want to make panel mount with LLT-M29-50003F2862

Is it for efoil or assist? For efoil, this connector is too weak, take one that israztrs for at least 120A. Depends also on your setup (motor, foil, board) and your weight. MR 60 is rated 60A and is barely OK for an assist but you‘ll burn it with a bigger motor like 65161. the one in your picture is rated 45A.
