I have a surf board from YuJetUSA that’s causing me problem. I did a lot of troubleshooting and seems to come from the ESC.
I tried the motor with another ESC and was working great. When I give it throttle the motor humming/vibrate and does nothing else. When I turn it by hand the humming sound change.
Here’s a video of the humming sound. Any idea what in the ESC could cause that issue ? Battery and remote are fully charged (68V 2kw battery)
Without knowing any of the specifics here and there are most likely various other explanations.
What you describe is consistent with with one or two esc phases not working. Since it is reacting to the throttle, there is at least some functionality left in the ESC, which is good.
This could be as simple as a motor cable disconnected or broken ( unlikely).
My guess would be one or more mosfets are broken.
You could do a basic test with a multimeter.
If it is just a regular ESC, there should be no continuity between any of the phases and between any of the phases and battery ground.
Replacing a mosfet can easily be done by a skilled professional.
But of course that is just a guess.
